If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t,
you’ll find an excuse.
– Jim Rohn
It has been awhile since this blog been updated. Reason? Nothing to update on I guess. Well, I tried. But each time I started writing, the words just couldn’t form nicely into a sentence. All garbled and messed up. The state of mind I am in right now.
For the month of March, we had to slow down our order takings. January and February were really fantastic. We really got ourselves busy with orders after orders and ultimately I got burnt out. Lack of planning, lack of resources and lack of everything. Resulting in me getting paranoid and jumpy and that some of the jobs didn’t turn out right. Perhaps we are just not ready yet to take on that many jobs at one time. So Dewi had to stop all activities on Facebook in order to space out job orders. We still receiving orders but not as much as we’ve seen in the past couple months.
Dewi did a marvellous job in managing our Facebook account and the many enquiries that came non-stop via Facebook. Now that we are a little inactive, she kinda missed her routine of checking the mails for enquiries and tending to customer request.
April is knocking in a few days time. What then? What is in for April? What had been planned out months ago didn’t exactly coming to reality. Somehow, I am slowly coming to terms with the way things are now. I have to accept and accommodate the changes. At this juncture, do I have any other choices?
Been a little melodramatic and sensitive these days. Hence pardon the mellow blog entry. But I need to move on and get out from this negative phase. Though my passion has never left me, my enthusiasm just need a little jolt. It is either I do it with all my heart or I don’t do it at all. Commitment and time management are two areas that I need to work on. I just need to start believing in myself. It is easier said than done but I just had to do it no matter how tough the road is going to be. I have to stop wallowing over how the situation right now is to my disadvantage. Rather I should stay focus and channel it to creating more inspirational works. Last week, I received 3 customers’ compliments over their purchases. Their words were what set me in gear to just move on. Plus, I love what I am doing. No regrets about choosing love over life necessities.
Enough said, I better start planning for April and the months ahead.
If I have the belief that I can do it, I will surely acquire the capacity
to do it, even if I may not have it at the beginning

Luv to kick start the enthusiasm,
Noor
A few days ago Dewi had accidentally deleted our photo album that she painstakingly built in Facebook. Even though we were just recently active, more like 2 months now, we received overwhelmed compliments from Facebook friends list for our works. Many of which we are not even acquainted with. Almost all of our creations received a ‘Like’ status. Which we have been awfully inspired to keep on doing more. The long list of compliments had been wiped out along with the photo album. Haiz…. (Head hang low here)
It was something unintended or perhaps it was just meant to be. What done cannot be undone. Initially, I was kind of pissed with the news. Who would not be when you received it the moment you woke up in the wee hours of pre-dusk. But after the news finally sank in and the effort Dewi put to redeem her ‘accidentally’ moment, I cooled down and take it with a pinch of salt. Look on the bright side. Now we know that we have well-meaning Facebook followers who gave us the motivation and support to rebuild what was lost and who believes in us. Yep. Importantly believes in our work. So Dewi will have to work extra hard to get back what was lost.
On another note, Ida commented that she was highlighted by her colleagues on our ‘dead but alive’ website. Well, point noted but some reasoning is in order here. We have been concentrating on building our base on our Facebook site for now. We are always evolving to adapt to current situation needs thus Facebook would be the appropriate portal for us to get instant recognition (and orders too). Though we still received traffic for our website but undeniably the strong networking of Facebook still gives us more spontaneous updates on our work. We received critics (if any) and commendable support (lots and lots) and comments are viewed instantaneously.
We take pride of Daya Creations website. It was built through our own ideas and inspirations. Of course being creative gives it a unique look. We are just different. Non-conventional. The website is more of a long term investment to introduce who we are behind the creative work. Never intended it to be a blogshop. Many tried to give suggestions and we take it in stride. However, we cannot suit everyone needs can we. Bring on the constructive suggestions by writing in to us via our website portal. We value feedbacks but we need to see those feedbacks to improve ourselves and not just voices of what to do and what not to do. Yet again, another disparity between website and Facebook. My point exactly.
Nevertheless, we are not putting the website to rest in peace forever in eternity stage. Over time, after getting over baby steps phase, we will need to focus on our website. Currently we have some ideas of what to do but we got to be realistic here. We can only do so much for now and that means Facebook-ing. Still, stay tune. Changes are in progress. Just taking a longer route. That’s all.
Luv all the great comments,
Noor

January was practically a busy month for us as we tried our very best to fulfill all the orders. However, we were kind of disappointed that we were not able to commit to the delivery scheduled for most of the orders due to last minute urgent request by some of the customers.
We are doing using our hands and our creativity comes not all the time. There are requests that beyond disbelief but we always believe that customer is always right and creativity knows no boudaries so yeah we accept. But at least please help us by showing the picture of prefered color so that we can do it right the first time hence we dont have to waste our resources in doing it the second time. Mind you the curing time itself takes at least half a day. Also, as we have decided to waive delivery charges for the month of January at least be reasonable enough to give us ample time to deliver at our convenience arrangement. We really want to do it well and not give sloppy workmanship therefore time is the essence here. Giving us grace period would result in a remarkable outcome.
We accept critism as we would like to improve ourselves further in our work. We will try to make up to whatever is lacking. Still a word of thank you would suffice in giving us that boost of motivation.
However, glad that we encountered only a few such scenarios. Most of the customers were great. On one occassion we had to play courier service. We went the extra mile to get a bouquet of flower, chocolates and of course bundled up with our creations. Well, we really felt the joy and excitement too knowing that it will be a surprise birthday gift for a wonderful lovely lady. Those are the moments that when we do, we really pour our hearts into it.
For the month of February, we still have orders to fulfill but we would like to slow down on the order taking. For we would like to pursue new ideas and new creations. There are so much ideas that just can’t wait to be created.

We are at the Singapore Flyer Flea Market. It has been awhile since we last held our flea market so we were kind of excited. Especially the venue will be our first time ever.
We do not really have much things on display as we were practically busy with making custom orders. Of late our job orders increased tremendously. Thanks to Dewi who are back from her hiatus.
Anyway, we are here to mingle with the crowd and just making the best of it.
Seems like the day starts off bright and sunshiny. Hope it stays this way.
Take a look at what we have been busy with.
will post more pics soon.
Luv the buzz,
Noor

You are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can’t bring you down
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can’t bring you down, oh no,
So don’t you bring me down today…No matter what we do
(no matter what we do)
No matter what they say
(no matter what they say)
When the sun is shining through
Then the clouds won’t stay
An excerpt from Christina Aguilera song ‘Beautiful’
This song has been ringing in me for these few days. Could be due to the influence from watching the trailer of the upcoming movie ‘Burlesque’. Not sure whether Christina Aguilera would sing this song in the movie but whenever I see her, this song would popped into my head and keep on rewinding by itself. Just love the lyrics.
As in the lyrics, being beautiful is deep within. How you interpret yourself and how you want others to interpret you. Just be beautiful in every single way.
Dedicated to a very lovely girl who is beautiful with her radiant smile and blessed life. Made these for her.
Her big smile just say it all. It was a surprise gift from mommy dearest to her one and only princess. When I embarked on the project I was only given information like ‘I just want those little cute stuff bracelets.’ So I got to hmmmm…..how cute should we make? The only clue I have is that she is at the anything pink phase. Then I took the liberty of making a matching ring and a matching brooch as I noted that she is wearing head scarf. Was hoping that mommy dearest would like it though it wasn’t part of the order.
Phew!…both mommy dearest and princess took an instant liking to the ring and brooch. Not sure though who is wearing it right now. Cos mommy dearest felt the sudden burst of youth wearing a pink doughnut brooch and ring. Beautiful in every single way, aye? Thank you both for your support.
We appreciate moments like these when we get to know the immediate result of our work. Kinda gave us the satisfaction and motivation to pursue more challenging projects. Thus, we prefer to do personal deliveries. Though we may charge a nominal delivery fee (depending on distance) but rest assured that it would not be a ridiculous amount. Who knows if you are just staying within our radius we might just not charge any delivery fee at all. Or if you would like to self-collect we are more than happy to accommodate.
So how do we do personal deliveries for overseas orders? Ouch we don’t have the liberty to do that. But what we can do is that we can go on webcam and show you live what you will be getting and whether you like the item made before shipping it out to you. That way you get what you see. And we get to see your beautiful smile too. Deal?
So stay beautiful no matter what has been said. Everyone deserves to be beautiful in their own way.
Luv nature’s beauty,
Noor

Wooohooo….so today marked the end of 2010. So how should we end it? Happy and extremely excited for what is waiting in 2011.
2010 left a bitter sweet memories for us in Daya Creations. But why dwell on the past when the future promises lots of opportunities.
Resolution for 2011? To improve on our workmanship and our marketing network that will result in more business opportunities. A prosperous 2011?
For a start we have decided to register our business and go legal. Yep we finally gonna have those many numbers printed on our business cards and flashed on our website.
Then Ida will have to work hard on her marketing hehehehe….while I need to improve on my customer relations. I have been working in an enclosed office environment for so long that meeting up with the outside world give me shudders and ended up tounge-tied. Dewi? Heh. She has to get herself organised. The common teenagers syndrome.
So to end 2010 beautifully, these were some of the items that were made to order and delivered. Thanks to those who had stood by us and supported us.
Wishing everyone a happy 2011!
Luv the feel of 2011,
Noor

Wanted to post this before Christmas but was caught up in the merry making frenziness. An order for a decorated tree with a Christmasy theme in it. So got us brainstorming what should we hang on it. Usually the tree functioned as earrings holder but the customer wanted it different so yeah we love challenge and started right on it.
So let the pictures talked it out.
All the ornaments waiting to be decorated on the branches. The tree sits nicely on a work desk and whats good about it is that it doesn’t require any watering and it last long too. Plus it is so versatile. Can be used as a christmas decoration during christmas season of course and after that when all the festivities mellowed it can be used to hang anything or just leave it bare on its own. When I say anything doesn’t really implies that anything of very heavy weight. Though it is sturdy but then again it is made of wires thus anything heavy might not do justice to it. Suitable to hold earrings but then again…anything is possible (Disclaimer : not heavy one of course).
Couldn’t leave the blings blings out can we. Made using clay and covered it with glitters. Don’t look simple to do actually. But glad that it finally settled in and shine.
Candy canes are must have! Hanged it up on the christmas tree for that sweetness and goodness.
These angels just added the whole christmasy feel. Made using seed beads to give out that twinkling and glowing effect.
Mr. Snowman! Cool……what else is there to say…..
Really glad that we were given this opportunity to further showcase our creativity. Thank you for believing in us.
Luv to be festive,
Noor

Of late we have been busy fulfilling all our orders. It kept coming and we thank God for bestowing us this opportunity.
We are working really hard. Our hands are kept busy creating new ideas and trying out new techniques. For now we are obsessed with clay work. We are just awed with the many possibilities. Hence most of our current works are using polymer clay.
One of our recent order, a set of rose brooch. I tested the durability of the brooch by wearing it for a day. Compliments, queries and more orders.
Finally, Dewi is back to update the website and Facebook. She has been taking pictures. I tried to take some pictures but it didnt turn out great. Oh well..at least I tried.

Noor

This week sees me going solo because Ida, has taken a week break zooming off to the neighbouring country for a much deserved holiday with her extended family. Hope she comes home fresh and full of ideas. Well she better be.
Glad that we are almost done up with all the orders. So I took the opportunity to familiarize myself with the technique of color mixing. Wanted a rich hue of maroon with a slight golden effect to it so I tried blending red, black and gold. But I think I put too much black that it came out kinda too dark.
I am still not too happy with the outcome. Still contemplating on adding more red. However, as a consolation I do like the subtle hint of shimmering gold in it. More trial and error situations here but the keyword is never to give it up.
Also, we are contemplating to participate in a flea market event somewhere next weekend. Well for a start, I have already registered but at this point of our development I am rather skeptical whether to pursue or not thus my dilly-dallying on paying the organiser to confirm the registration. We have started getting really serious just recently and to begin with, we do not have much to display for sale. Perhaps we should give this a miss? Or just go on with it. Hmmm…
Luv to try,
Noor
